Rusty

Pam and Deb sent me this picture of their adorable dog (click to enlarge). According to the vet, Rusty is most likely a Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix. Here's his story:

My partner and I were coming home from visiting her parents in Eastern WA. one day about 5 months ago, and out in the middle of nowhere, we came upon Rusty on the side of the highway. We were afraid he was going to get run over, so we stopped to see what we could do. More...

Wesley Says Hello
"Wesley is our 3 year old Pembroke Corgi and a absolute pleasure. He shares our home with his sister Tinker. This is his chance to say hello to a wonderful group of women." Cheryl and Stephanie, Stanwood.

Pretty ShilaPretty Shila
The dark tortoise cat is Shila, 2 years old. She's very proper and prissy, and doesn't like her hair messed up. She's very affectionate and loves to sleep next to me. If she were human I think she'd be an Elizabeth Taylor type. —Linda Hannah

"I never used to care much for cats but these two are keepers, and make me smile and laugh at their antics. Cats are pretty cool."

RubyRuby
The little girl in the sweatshirt is 1 year old, Ruby. She's very annoying; gets into everything, is extremely ungraceful - this one doesn't land on her feet; but she is the cutest, most loveable little thing. —Linda Hannah

LucyLucy
Lucy is the newest addition to the Whitewolf Family. She came to the family, which includes another dog and cat from the Bellingham Humane Society. Lucy is learning obedience with her moms and September Morn, our favorite trainer. She has a Web site of her very own. To see more pictures, click here. —Aryn & Ravyn

TessLee and Tess
Tess is a platinum Burmese, who came to us from Casa Del Gatos in Rockwall, Texas on December 16, 1999. She was born Oct. 5, 1999. Tess fit right in with Murphy & Sara (below), who adopted her within the first week. She is very hungry (all the time), highly intelligent and playful with a good sense of humor (characteristic of the breed), and sleeps under the covers with us. —Lee & Elisabeth

Murphy
Murphy, Maine CoonMurphy is a Maine Coon tortie, named for Murphy Brown because she has so much attitude. She's laid back, affectionate, not at all shy, and gets along well with other cats and dogs, including her baby sister, Tess, and Sara. She's very proud of her beautiful tail. —Lee & Elisabeth

SaraSara-4 years
Sara is a miniature Australian Shepherd, named for the poet, Sara Teasdale, who, late in life, found love and companionship with a much younger woman. She is a herding dog; when she runs, she just looks like a grey streak. Sara is a blue merle with one brown and one blue eye. She loves the women, particularly Fran. —Lee & Elisabeth

Luke
"Luke is a 12 year old border collie, born in Plain City, Utah. His favorite activity is going for his daily walk. Luke has a great spirit & a noble manner. He is always ready for activity & lets you know by giving you "the Border Collie eye." Luke grew up playing Frisbee and excelled at this until he was sidelined with hip dysplasia. He has also helped many people in nursing homes by being a therapy dog. Everyone should be so lucky to have a companion like Luke in their lives. He is a great joy!" —Carrie & Jo

Abbey
"Abbey is an 8 year old Dalmatian, born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Abbey is the entertainer of the family. She's always doing something that either makes you laugh or leaves you shaking your head. Her favorite play game is to grab a stick and run around like a speeding bullet. She's very fast and agile. Abbey has also been a therapy dog and was responsible for getting a woman to speak as she petted her (she hadn't spoken a word for months until Abbey visited her nursing home). Now, while the residents received a lot from Abbey's visits, Abbey was looking for something, too—treats, which she was great at finding. Food is truly Abbey's passion in life." —Carrie & Jo

Georgie
"Georgie is a 5 year old tomcat born on the streets of Logan, Utah. We adopted him from the local Humane Society when he was about 6 months old. Georgie loves to be cuddled and petted anytime, anywhere he can get it. He's the neighborhood's social butterfly, loving to visit the neighbors just to say "Hello!" He loves to catch mice, and, unfortunately, birds, too. He gets along very well with dogs and will seek out dogs he sees outside to be buddies with. Maybe he secretly wants to be a dog! Who knows?" —Carrie & Jo

Zoë & Elisabeth
In Loving Memory. Zoë was a Bombay, which is a cross between a Black American Shorthair and a Burmese. She was a cuddler—she clung like a piece of Velcro! Zoë become a studio cat and owned Clarissa until her death.
